Privacy & POPIA

Companies share information about their people with us so that we can arrange gifts on their behalf. This page explains, in plain terms, what we collect and how we treat it.

What we may collect

To run a gifting programme we typically need recipient names, birthdays or occasion dates, delivery addresses, and a contact number or email for delivery purposes. We also hold the details of the person at your company who manages the account, and the information you send us through our enquiry form.

Why we use it

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, set up and run your gifting programme, place and track orders with suppliers, arrange delivery, and invoice your company. Delivery partners and suppliers receive only what they need to complete a specific delivery.

How we treat it

We treat personal information carefully and share it only where it is necessary to deliver the service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use recipient details for unrelated marketing. Access within Birthday Desk is limited to the people who need it to run your programme.

Your company's role

Where your company supplies employee or client information to us, your company remains responsible for having an appropriate basis to share it and for informing the people concerned as required by POPIA.

Questions, corrections or removal

If you would like to know what we hold, correct something, or ask us to remove information, please contact us at alexi@birthdaydesk.co.za.

This page is general information about how we work and is not legal advice or a compliance certification. It will be reviewed and expanded as our service grows, and specific arrangements can be agreed in writing with your company.
